How much does a cut of aluminum cost?
Three numbers make a total here: the metal by the foot, the cut fee, and whether it rides home with you or in a box. All of them are on the page before you pay. Here is what each one runs, with two worked orders from today's rack.
The metal, by the foot
Every tag on the rack carries one price, printed on it. The spread is wide, so it is worth knowing where your profile sits. Off the rack today:
- Flat bar, 1 1/2 in × 1/8 in, 6063-T5 — $0.70 per foot, the cheapest stick on the wall.
- Round bar, 1/2 in, 6061-T6 — $0.85 per foot.
- Angle, 2 in × 2 in × 1/8 in, 6061-T6 — $1.70 per foot, with the heavy-wall version at $3.25.
- Square tube, 2 in × 2 in × 1/8 in, 6061-T6 — $3.20 per foot.
- Sheet, .080 in, 5052-H32 — $3.85 per square foot, cut to a rectangle; heavier sheets run $5.95 and $8.95.
Your total for metal is just the price times your length — or the square-foot price times your panel. A piece shorter than the stick itself costs the same per foot; the rest of the stick goes to the cutoff bin.
The cut fee
$15.00 covers up to 4 cuts on an order — saw cuts, ±1/8 in, deburred. After four it is $3.00 a cut, because each one takes the same saw time whether the stick was $0.70 a foot or $12.
One fee covers the whole order, not each stick. Six brackets off one bar of flat stock is five cuts and one fee. Pieces off the bin are already cut and priced as they lie — no fee, no minimum, carry them to the counter.
Two orders, worked
There is a $50.00 minimum on cut-to-order stock. It is not a surcharge — it is where the cut fee meets cheap metal. Two examples:
Twelve feet of the 2 in square tube at $3.20 a foot is $38.40 of metal. Add the $15.00 cut fee and the order is $53.40, picked up free at the Pineville counter. That is a real order: four cuts, four pieces, metal you can hold before you drive over.
Six feet of flat bar at $0.70 a foot is $4.20 of metal. The same $15.00 fee puts the order at $19.20 — under the minimum, and honestly the wrong shop for it. That is a bin job or an online box order, and we will say so rather than pad the total.

Pickup or a box
Pickup at 10108 Industrial Dr is free, and the pieces are cut and set on the will-call shelf — 30 days to collect, no call needed.
Shipping is flat: $28.00 while the longest piece stays inside 48 inches, $55.00 up to 96. Past that it goes freight, quoted by email before anything is charged — which is the honest ceiling on what a "cut of aluminum" costs if it has to cross the country.
